Omar Ali
Managing Partner

Omar has over 25 years of international experience in private equity, venture capital and in corporate management. He has built deep domain expertise in logistics, business services and software & services. Some of the companies Omar has invested in and worked alongside founders and board members in include Wave Shipping (sold to SevenSeas Group), Inchcape Shipping Services, SpiceJet (publicly listed), Stampfeet, ExpressPigeon (sold to IMI Mobile) and essDOCS. Following the acquisition of Wave Shipping, he spearheaded all corporate development activities for SevenSeas Group.

In 2017, he invested in Stelvio Transport, a logistics services business headquartered in San Diego, California. Stelvio Transport grew into one of the leading last mile and middle mile logistics operators in Southern California, delivering over millions of packages a year for its customers. ICP is a shareholder in the company, and Omar served as Stelvio Transport’s CEO. In addition to his role at Stelvio Transport, Omar is a Managing Partner and the Fund CFO for Astia, which invests in the success of women high growth entrepreneurs, their teams and their ventures.

Omar is fluent in Italian. He received his MBA from SDA Bocconi and his B.S. in Finance from George Mason University.

 

Arlette Vargas-Ali
Partner

With over 20 years of experience in investment banking, structured finance, and building strategic partnerships across the globe, Arlette is primarily responsible for the firm’s investment activities in business services focusing on the building products & materials sector. She is currently the President of Baja Pacific Aggregates.

Arlette spent the majority of her career working in structured finance and fixed income in New York, London and Dubai for Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, Jefferies and Cantor Fitzgerald. Prior to ICP, Arlette served as Director of Strategic Partnerships in Silicon Valley for a leading humanitarian non-profit organization focused on anti-slavery and human rights.

Arlette is fluent in Spanish - her native tongue. She received a Bachelor of Science from Georgetown University, where she achieved a triple major in Finance, Marketing and International Business and attained an M.B.A. from New York University's Stern School of Business, where she was a full-merit scholarship recipient. Most recently, Arlette completed a Certificate in International Human Rights Law and Practice at the London School of Economics.
